Blogs are meant to relate only the latest news and gossip but in the spirit of the multi-million year old designs of our scarves I hope you will forgive my opening this blog by catching up on a few notable events in the months BL (Before Liberty). And where better to begin than with this picture of the British 2009 F1 World Champion Jenson Button with Britain’s favourite weather-caster, Sian Lloyd, at the FIA’s latest Gala Awards event in Monte Carlo?
When Sian was asked to act as hostess for the evening she decided to set fashion students at Newport University the challenge of designing a special gown – and their tutors in turn asked us to supply a unique fabric. Little did she or I then know that a few months later the obsidian she loved would be on sale in Liberty’s as part of an exclusive scarf collection!
